Thank you for asking such a good question, Elliot. So this question can be a hard one but one thing I can say is the team that made a huge jump last year were the New Jersey Devils. Not only did they have a great regular season,but they made it past the first round beating the Rangers in 7 games. But this year I think the Detroit Red wings could very well surprise us with Moritz Seider and, Dylan Larkin and the rest of their young squad just like the New Jersey Devils did.

HI mommy/Bridget thank you for Writing an awesome question just like Elliot did. Bedard is a hard question just like which team will surprise us this year. I Listen to a number of podcasts, and my favorite one is the Hockey News Podcast. ( check them out athttps://thehockeynews.com/) What they said is that they don't know how many goals he will end with, but they are saying he will score 25 goals in the first 30-40 games. The main thing was, His release is unreal when you see it in person it's 6 times better than on TV, but imagine being the goalie and just getting fooled by his shot, which he can change the angle better than you think he can. All I can say is the hype is a little too big , because Crosby and all those good players are going to play 10x harder then they normally would to stop this kid, so he is either going to have an ok season, or 30 goal scoring season which is not good for him.

Bridget you're the only one ever who has submitted 2 awesome questions, good job.
The Leafs are up for A so called normal year of missing the 2nd round, or they are going to be very bad in my opinion. Losing Kyle Dubas to the Penguins was a big one for them.
Despite the facts Matthews is up for a great year which could help, but the Toronto Maple Leafs might have to wait a year.
