Talking about the NHL's biggest point leaders right now

With Connor McDavid's injury, the spotlight is on different players this year.

And with Auston Matthews back with his goal touch, the sky is the limit for him and those guys.

Auston Matthews

This player is going to be leading the goal scoring show all year. With two hat tricks in a row last October. His shot and quick release is what beats goalies, note to all goalies, don't give him any time in the slot or near the goal. As all of you know, I mentioned in a story last year, that Auston Matthews wasn't the best last year with his injury and what not. But this year could be another 60 goals or higher year for him, just like the 2021-22 season. We think Auston Matthews will be a key statistic player this year, and will likely be on the leader board in the NHL app for a while.

Jack Hughes

This year and last year, were huge takeoffs for Jack Hughes. He is one of the top leaders in assists and points right now. This is one of his first seasons where he has been this good. Of course this is a player who will bounce around the NHL statistic leader board. But for now we think he is due for a Hart trophy type season. Also to mention, his leadership skills are incredible for a 22 year old, he is already captain. Two things that he has mastered on, are for sure going to be his handles and fancy passing.

Ellias Petterson

What a huge year this guy has had already. He is leading the NHL in points, and assists, as of right now. ( 11-16 2023) Ellias Petterson is one of the best swedish players this year.

The Canucks are a way better

team this year, and Ellias Petterson is one of the few players in the NHL that is born to score tons of goals.

Rookie Showdown

The Calder trophy race is at it's best this year. 3 rookies that are in position to win the Calder trophy, or become a finalist are Matthew Knies, Logan Cooley, and Connor Bedard.

Connor Bedard is leading in Points and goals for the rookie show right now, but Logan Cooley is catching up. See, the thing is everybody thought Bedard would be this way, but not to much Cooley. Cooley is an elite skater and has a high hockey IQ like we have mentioned in past stories. Matthew Knies has been a huge help for the Maple Leafs this year, among being on a line with Auston Matthews and William Neilander. I think being on that line will be a huge help for him to score, and to feed Matthews and Neilander.
