Top Rookies who could potentially win the Calder Trophy

The Hockey Times has taken data and made our own opinion on the rookie show this year, and two rookies for next year as a sneak peek.

  1. Connor Bedard

We all know if Connor Bedard has a season he's supposed to have then he'll probably win the Calder. But who knows with Adam Fantilli and Logan Cooley what could happen. Of course we'll talk more about this as the season goes on.

2. Adam Fantilli

We think Adam Fantilli is capable of becoming an incredible player and even winning the Calder trophy. He describes his self as a two way power forward who isn't afraid to hit and shoot the puck with his size. The Blue Jackets are the right team for him to rebuild in, because I think this team is going to evolve again and be like how they were against Tampa Bay in 2019.

3. Logan Cooley

We all can relate to what Cooley did in the international series in Meleborne, AKA his spin move goal. He played for the USNTDP and went on to play at Minnesota for college. We gathered information from his Minnesota coaches, his NTDP coaches, and even his youth team the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite, and they all say his hockey IQ is world class, and you can see him create a goal well before it happens. They also happen to say that his speed is better than you think it is when you see him in person. ( Just like Connor Bedard's shot)

4. Luke Hughes

Yep another Hughes brother who is on the Devils, Also from the USNTDP program, Luke Hughes role this year next to his brother ( Jack Hughes), is going to be a puck moving speedster for his line. After finishing his time up at the USNTDP, he decided to spend 2 years in college hockey for Michigan. " It's a pleasure to play with my brother who's is just getting better in his career, I am excited to be on the Powerplay with him this year,'' Says Luke Hughes. I think this could make an impact on New Jersey and be a Calder Trophy finalist.

Sneak peek for 2025 draft

  1. James Haegan

James the highest rated 2025 draft player and also plays for the NTDP. I think the US is catching up to Canada in draft picks and maybe by 2025 it will be even. James has a great hockey mindset and I am excited for him to come into the NHL in 2025. I saw him play at the USHL fall classic in Pittsburgh PA in September, and he scored the game winner in the one game I watched, and he looked like a fast and smart player you would want on your team is what all the 32 NHL scouts there said along with the college scouts. The main event about him right now is that the Athletic just did an artcle on him about him committing to Boston College which is going to be awesome for him which is what many former NTDP

players have done.

2. Cole Eiserman

I can't believe how many USNTDP players I have talked about, but again the US is catching up. Cole Yzerman or James Haegan could be number 1 it's just a matter of what teams will scout who the most. We don't know if Cole will take the main road of USHL players and go to College or will he go straight to the NHL?
